Durand Through The Years

The PAST...
By the time the aluminum form was invented in Independence, Missouri, in the late 1950s, our company founders were longtime experts in pouring walls the old-fashioned way—with plywood forms. They had established a local following of satisfied customers in the quiet town of Durand, Michigan, where they made their home. However, they were quick to recognize the labor-saving potential of aluminum forms. Before long, they began designing and tooling all-aluminum forms as well as a host of productivity-boosting devices including their high output tie-making machine.

Word spread steadily, and soon poured-wall contractors throughout the Midwest were clamoring for Durand wall-forming equipment and ties. The creators proved their keen business sense by making the decision to focus efforts on aluminum form manufacturing. In 1976, Durand Forms, Inc. was launched.

Building on the deep experience of our founders, Durand Forms has grown from a regional company serving mostly hometown contractors to one of the industry’s most respected suppliers of aluminum forms from coast to coast. Over the years, we have steadily expanded our production facilities and evolved our product offerings. Today, we are distinguished for utilizing state-of-the-art robotics for welding, modern procedures and controls, advancing product capabilities, and continually innovating ways to help contractors succeed.
