F.A.Q.

Question: Do I need a level footing?
Answer: When your crew takes a few more minutes to make the footing level, more time and effort will be saved making grade at the top of the forms.

Question: How do I establish grade at the top of the forms?
Answer: On a level footing you are ready for concrete when the aluminum forms are set up. There’s no transit to set up; no grades to shoot; no grade nails to install or remove later. You merely strike off the top or down-screed inside the forms. The end rails are level and the screed “rides” on the end rails and screeds down exactly to the desired level grade.

Question: How do I install brick ledge, windows, and other blockouts in aluminum forms?
Answer: You may nail them in place or use one of our labor-saving accessories for this purpose. Window clamps hold windows in place down inside the forms when concrete is poured above. Battery- powered hole shooters quickly make nail holes whenever you need them without any adverse effect.

Question: Can I use vibrators for consolidation? Place concrete with pumps?
Answer: Yes, with proper vibrating and pumping techniques employed. Our 1/8” (.125) thick face sheets, heavy-duty cross members and side rail design combine to minimize the “pillowcasing” associated with thinner face sheet aluminum forms.

Question: Can I use aluminum forms in winter?
Answer: Yes, owners of our forms pour concrete walls year-round using sound hot weather and sound cold weather pouring practices.
